The only commercially available model that allows the testing of therapies against human specific infectious diseases including HIV, malaria, Dengue and TB in the context of a human immune system.

Applications

• Anti-viral/ bacterial therapeutics (study of human pathogens, testing of novel therapies against viruses and other pathogens)

Advantages over existing models

• Only pre-clinical small animal model that allows for study of human pathogens that do not infect rodents (e.g. HIV, malaria). Easy to standardize and much less expensive in comparison to non-human primates
